I had the privilege of recently being in attendance for an incredible training/conversation with human rights specialist, Nate Hoover of DDS (Department of Developmental Services in MA).
The general conversation centered around affirming, promoting, and protecting the rights of citizens with developmental disabilities, in our current environment and ableist society. (There was much that came from this invaluable moment in time, I will be revisiting the magic in future posts.)
Storytellers and Story-recievers were all in attendance. A ‘Community built of understanding and compassion’ came together to remind the collective, I believe, that there is always hope for us, where there is Community.
